Captured On Floppy Tip #4 — Printing
Photos
One great thing about 640 x 480 image
resolution is the fact that it's the perfect size for printing on
standard 8.5" x 11" paper. If your rotate the image 90 degrees, it will
print with about a one inch white border on standard paper. This is
perfect for framing.
When printing Mavica images, it is not necessary to make any changes to the image's appearance. the grain will not be picked up in the print, and unless you are printing at higher resolution such as 1440 dpi, jaggies will not be noticable. Also, don't worry about color corrections. The printer can not match the colors on the monitor perfectly anyway, so precise adjustments are not necessary. I have an Epson Stylus 600, and was rather pleased with the results of the printing even in 360 dpi mode. When printing images in black and white picture effect mode, make sure you use black ink only. otherwise, the printer will use some color ink, and you may end up with some light blue or pink tones in the print.
